Showreel available as DCP package!

Hi,

I just tested the free OpenDCP software a couple of days ago. I made a Interop 3D DCP of my Showreel, it worked beautifully at a local Finnkino theater! Then I though why not make it publicly downloadable.

So here’s my showreel as a DCP package (zipped, around 5 Gb’s):

Stereo Window Showreel 2011

You are free to distribute it as long as you keep it intact & give me a credit (non-commercial usage only!)

Epic shooting trip to Alps: done.

Hello there,

I just came back from a 10-day shooting trip in Europe. I traveled from Germany to Switzerland and shot around 20 000 frames of stereo timelapse. The material is now in post-production and I’m confident I’ll get my new showreel done before September :) Some of the places I shot in: Frankfurt, Achenkich, Lermoos, Munster, Furkapass, Grimselpass, Wengen, Murren and Interlaken.

I had two Canon EOS 5D MK II cameras with Canon 17-40L series lenses on my new side-by-side rig. The rig worked really well, although it was a bit heavy for hiking purposes. I shot mainly jpeg because of the large number of data and limited memory capacity.

I also had two tripods for hyper-stereo purposes, but I realized soon that 12 meters just won’t cut it in the Alps ;) That was the length of my shutter cable… Of course a mirror rig would have been very beneficial to get some tighter shots, but lugging around a beamsplitter rig in addition to all the other gear would’ve been insane. And I did fly with Ryanair with a “10kg” cabin bag ;)

I also had a netbook with two video capture usb-sticks with the fantastic program Stereoscopic Multiplexer for monitoring purposes. However it proved to be too clunky for one person crew, so I didn’t use it too much.

Check out these behind the scenes pics! The scenery was unbelievable!
