About

Hi there,

Let me first introduce myself, I’m called Riku and come from Finland’s fourth largest city, Tampere. I have an education (BA) in cinematography and a lot of experience shooting various genres, and also quite a bit on lighting too.

In the last two years I became interested in stereoscopic imaging, and decided to do my thesis on stereoscopic cinematography. That lead to various things, one being the birth of my own company called Stereoikkuna in Finnish, internationally known as Stereo Window.

My company is a one-man company, and will probably always be. My idea is to provide services to other companies. My main focus is on stereography and stereoscopic supervising. I also do stereoscopic post-production and consulting on all stereoscopic matters. I can also design and rent stereoscopic rigs, mainly side-by-sides.

My company has a track record of couple of “firsts” in Finland, but we value quality more than being there first.

It’s been an interesting journey and I have no idea where it’s going to lead ;)

Some achievements:

Finland’s first thorough publication on stereoscopic cinematography (download pdf in Finnish, November 2008)

Finland’s first publicly released stereoscopic music video, stereography and post-production (Rights sold to Yabazam, August 2009)

World’s first stereoscopic footage of professional disc golf, Disc Golf European Open (Footage still waiting for edit, August 2009)

Finland’s first feature length stereoscopic music performance, stereography and stereoscopic post-prod. supervising (October 2009)
